Beta Spuds is one of only a few potato processors in WA who manage every aspect of potato production. We have proudly adopted some leading technologies to ensure that you are getting the best product.
HYDRO COOLER
This amazing machine reduces the pulp temperature of the potatoes to 8˚C, locking in the freshness for longer.
4 STAGE WASHING
At Beta Spuds we use an industry-leading 4-stage washing process.
We start with a soak tank to loosen the soil before barrel washing, progress to our dual veggie-polishers with variable brushing technology in operation, then comes a final rinse through the super washer before we hydro-cool our potatoes.
A sponge-drying process is also an integral part of the process for all Beta Spuds washed potatoes.
QUALITY ASSURANCE
At Beta Spuds our aim is to deliver the highest quality Potatoes to our customers’. That’s why at Beta Spuds we take Quality Assurance very seriously.
We have been accredited with SQF Food Safety Code for Manufacturing since 1997 and have continued to improve our processes since then to continue our accreditation up to today. SQF certification assures our customers’ that our Potatoes have been produced, processed and handled according to the highest standards.
In 2016 Beta Spuds became accredited to HARPS (Harmonised Australian Retailer Produce Scheme). HARPS is a retailer-led scheme designed to assist with compliance to food safety, legal and trade legislation for suppliers to the major grocery retailers in Australia.
